We’re in search of a qualified and resourceful HR generalist to support our HR department in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. The HR generalist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping us to plan and administer important functions, such as staffing, training and development, HR policies and process. WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:
- Assist with all internal and external HR related matters
- Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations
- Participate in the development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements
- Assist in administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs
- Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, conducting reference checks and issuing employment contracts
- Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems
- Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve the efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve employee experience
- Ensure legal compliance of labour regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required
- Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contributes to the development of policies
- Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing
- Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters
- Produce and submit reports on general HR activity
- Recommend strategies to motivate employees
- Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practice
- Recruit and interview potential applicants on experience, skills, and education
- Organize and manage new employee orientation, on-boarding, and training programs
- Represent employer in the community and recruiting events
- Works comfortably under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Answer employee questions and addresses employee concerns with company; including employee safety, welfare, wellness and health
- Manages committees on wellness, training, health and safety, culture, and communications as needed
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field
- 2+ years experience as HR generalist
- Additional HR training or experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
- Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies
- Natural interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong detail-oriented and resourceful mindset
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed
- Knowledge of HR and Labour laws
